How We Got Here
We have over 40 years of experience in the development of equipment, designs and processes used in the manufacture of thin film coatings. Our team of scientists and engineers have expertise in physics, chemistry, software engineering, biology, and thin film design and engineering. PowersTech, Inc. has provided solutions for coating design, equipment optimization, tooling design, process optimization, thickness monitoring, spectroscopy and many other processes used in the manufacture of optical and non-optical thin film coatings. We are entrepreneurs and have over 30 years of experience in management at companies that design and manufacture thin film coatings.

Patrick Scott Powers
President
A veteran business person who is always looking for the next challenge, Scott holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from the University of Southern California, as well as B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Biology from the University of California, Irvine. Scott has 35 years of experience in the design and manufacture of thin film coatings. He has built manual and automated coating machines, designed and built custom tooling, developed myriad manufacturing processes, and has extensive expertise in spectrophotometry.
Carrie Powers
Co-Founder & Partner
We trust Carrie with all of our business needs. Efficient and meticulous, no project is too big for her to tackle. Carrie holds a B.S. in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine and is highly skilled at business and project analysis.
Alissa Powers
Software Engineer
Alissa boasts nearly a decade of experience in software design and program management. Passionate about business and innovation, Alissa holds a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S. in Software Engineering from the University of California, Irvine.
